Question: My injury occured a long time ago , and I made it this far by not knowing my disabilities. I always wondered why people would say people like you can't do this or that. It take so much persistance to make it, keep trying you will. Some time I sould meet in Nashville or something like that, I assume you are somewhere in West Tennessee . I live in Knoxville. Are you arware of the states traumatic brain injury program. They have a medical social worker who can help deal with Tenn-care. Are you active in a local support group ? Have you talked to the states Brain injury association. I to live in Tennessee , the Knoxville area. I my accident was 19 years ago. I still have the angry sometimes but I found that there was a cooralation to if I was taking medication for allergies or joint inflamation (steroids) . One summer nearlly lost my job that I have worked so hard to keep. Has your doctor ever checked to see if the hormones that are like steroid is high. Mine varies when I am stressed (working to much , to many classes at school , problems at work) these hormones get high and I am wicked!!!! I have over this summer cut down to ONE JOB only and no more than two nights of classes and I feel much better. I have not trashed to house since early spring. I would get so angry and frustrated that I would take it out on my self, smash things in the house. Hope I had an idea that might help. Basically try to control your stressors and maybe you will have less problems. I have had all the pre-nursing courses and it does make some sense. try to reduce to sympathic (flight or fight responses) since they also involve angry and aggresion.
