Question: DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY BRAIN INJURY CONTACTS/SUPPORT GROUPS IN SAN DIEGO? I am writing on behalf of a friend of mine, who is a US resident, attending university in San Diego. Now, she is doing well at the school, despite having to work about 10 times harder than the other students (she has to record all the lectures and listen to them laterin order to understand the words) but she is finding herself quite isolated as a result of not having the abilities or confidence to get out and about socially, and also , she has had problems with people's attitudes, with people not wanting to understand the subtle nature of the deficits she is experiencing. She is also 35- a bit older than the majority of students. She is 16 years post injury, and has tried everything, and is getting really exhausted by not being able to get the support which would enable her to really get back to living a full and productive life. She really wants to engage in more extra-curricular activities, but cannot do that without support
Answer: There could also be Stephanie StClair, who has mentioned San Diego to me several times. However, she gave me her new address (she used to be on the tbi-sprt list under a different address) in confidence, so I would have to double-check back with her. She is not local to SD, but about mid-way between LA and Palm Springs) Please indicate if you wish to contact these last two, as there details are in confidence - I'll have to get back to them first for permissions. Jenrun is feeling very lonely and isolated up at Lake Arrowhead.
