Hypoxic Brain Damage/ anyone got a cure yet

Question:
As ordinary medicine doesn't help, anybody came up with anything that might help with my condition as described briefly in my SIG.The Brain injury came about after, a period in a coma. mark brown, Hypoxic Brain injury( self inflicted through being Diabetic and copious amounts of alcohol) now reading help files at the University of Demon in wheel chair, and not being able to understand the simplest of things without instruction word by word.

Answer: Sorry to hear that you've had such problems. I know several people with diabetes -- one is a pretty close friend -- who used to drink heavily (stomachs pumped in ER's, etc.) until they came to terms with their disease & it's implications as well as their alcohol abuse. Fortunately at least my friend is okay now & dealing with his situation by managing the diabetes & no more booze. He was lucky not to have suffered any brain damage from his past behavior.

Hypoxic Brain injury( self inflicted through being Diabetic and copious amounts of alcohol)"Once a neuron dies, it's dead. If enough of them survive, you can retrain the survivors to take over, but if you have killed off too many of them, there's no known therapy. here is a faint amount of evidence (in rats, so far) that the brain might be able to regenerate some neurons with the help of stem cells, but it's YEARS down the road from seeing general use.
