Equestrian related head injury statistics

Question:
How much of a head injury do you need? doesn't matter what the statistics are if you are one. Especially whne the cost of prevention is so minuscule.

Any head injury is serious. SO is having a Cessna drop out of the sky onto your house. Or having a bus run over your car. The likelihood of being involved in an auto accident is higher than being involved in an equine head injury accident. Simple fact. Now, what are you going to do to keep yourself safe in a car? besides all that is already done, what more will you do personally? Stop driving as much (that will help)?

Answer: Against my better judgment, I am going to dip my oar in the water. I doubt any of the "antis" in this thread have spent time with a person with a severe brain injury. I have. How would you like to spend the rest of your natural life knowing that you used to be able to ride a horse, but now all you can do is hobble along with a walker and eat soft food with your fingers? And by the way, you used to be able to work; but now you get $1,100 a month from Social Security and turn it over to the home. And your wife divorced you when you became a moron. That is a typical outcome of a brain injury.

I don't favor helmet laws of any sort (nor gun control nor banning drugs), but you really need to understand the risk you are taking.
